But to fully understand what a TV listener is, we must first clarify that there are typically 5 types of assistive listening devices:
These devices are also sometimes referred to as TV headphones or TV hearing aids. These devices are super simple to use and typically consist of 2 parts - a transmitting base that you plug directly into your television's headphone jack, and a headset which is then worn by the user who wants to hear the sound. The neckloop is typically used for hearing aid wearers while the under-chin headset is preferred by non-hearing aid users.
